GIBA's AI & Machine Learning Bootcamp was one of our most anticipated events of 2025, and it didn't disappoint. Held at the state-of-the-art IT Park campus in Verna, the full-day intensive workshop brought together 120 developers, data scientists, and tech leaders.
The morning session, led by Dr. Priya Sharma from IIT Goa, covered the fundamentals of machine learning — from linear regression and decision trees to neural networks. Participants worked through hands-on Jupyter notebooks with real Goan datasets, including tourism footfall data and fisheries yield predictions.
After lunch, the workshop shifted to practical deployment. Participants built and deployed a sentiment analysis model using Hugging Face Transformers and FastAPI, containerized it with Docker, and pushed it to a cloud endpoint — all within three hours.
The day closed with a panel discussion on "AI Ethics and Regulation in India," featuring representatives from NASSCOM, the Goa government's IT department, and local startups already using AI in healthcare and agriculture.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 94% of attendees rating the workshop 4.5/5 or higher. Based on demand, GIBA announced a follow-up Advanced ML Engineering workshop scheduled for early 2026.
